Interior of a Room by the Sea (2024)

aluminium sheets, steel sheet, hollow steel rods, fishing line, contact speakers, speaker cable, integrated amplifiers, audio interface, ableton live.

Interior of a Room by the Sea' is a sound installation that explores the resonance of different kinds of sheet metal. Two aluminium sheets and a steel sheet are engaged by contact speakers playing a dedicated audio composition. Audio composed of oscillating low frequencies and field recordings from everyday life that have been manipulated beyond recognition. My focus is to explore sound as a physical body and the visual juxtaposition of technology with raw material. Exploring the physicality of sound and how musical performance may be arranged and perceived in unfamiliar ways.

The metal moves, it groans, and it watches you too.
